Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will contribute to the efficient functioning of the Finance Department by handling daily accounting tasks and assisting with special projects as needed. This position requires strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial processes.

Responsibilities:

- Process cash receipts, ensuring proper coding and batching of funds.

- Monitor daily bank account activity and provide specifications for incoming wires to the Donor Relations team.

- Enter accounts payable invoices into the financial system with precision.

- Prepare journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

- Update fee schedules and allocation pools related to specific funds.

- Generate monthly reports, including giving group and budget-to-actual operating expense comparisons.

- Reconcile gifts and grants across multiple databases on a monthly basis.

- Provide backup support for accounts payable processing and grant disbursement tasks.

- Assist with preparing quarterly fund holder statements and maintaining external grant records.

- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements - Strong communication and organizational abilities.

- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance preferred.

- Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, and NPact Foundation Cloud is a plus.

- Reliable home office setup with stable internet connection for telecommuting.

- Comfortable working in an office environment with occasional physical activity, such as lifting light loads or climbing stairs.
