Tax Manager

Most adverts in public accounting feel identical. Software lists. Entity lists. A polite mention of culture. But the things that actually make people move are rarely written down. So here is what matters.

If you like being trusted to do high-quality work, want a stable team with almost no turnover, and want a life outside of March and April, this is a role worth exploring.

You would prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, estate and trust returns, along with compilations, and review of financial statements. No audits. You would have genuine client responsibility and the space to work like a grown-up.

7+ years of experience and a CPA license are ideal. Estate and trust experience helps but is not essential. Signing experience is nice to have, but not required at day one. EA candidates can be considered at the Senior level, but a CPA is needed for review work.

The office expectation is 1x per week in Columbia, MD, on Tuesdays.

Tax season is controlled rather than chaotic. Expect around fifty hours a week. Partners do fifty-five and consider anything above that unnecessary. Extra hours earn comp time.
