Senior Accountant

CFO is an outsourced CFO and accounting firm supporting venture-backed, high-growth companies. We’re hiring a hands-on Accountant who can flex between Accounts Payable and general ledger accounting across multiple clients. This role is for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and solving problems as they come up. This will be a hybrid on-site/remote position.

Time commitment:
Initial 20-30 hours/week to start with potential to expand to full-time

• Manage end-to-end AP: bill intake, coding, approvals, payment processing, vendor communications
• Support GL accounting: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and cleanup work as needed
• Assist with month-end close activities and ensure books are accurate and deadline-ready
• Maintain clean documentation and organized work papers for review and audit support
• Partner with internal team and client stakeholders to resolve issues quickly and keep work moving
• Continuously improve workflows, templates, and processes to help clients scale

• 3+ years of experience in the accounting profession required
• CPA preferred but not required
• BA or BS degree in accounting, business administration, or economics is required
• Top-level critical thinking and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, derive accounting conclusions, and present results to the team and clients
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to be a team player and ability to work well in both In-Person & Remote work environments
