Overview
Our client is a world-class consulting services provider that helps organizations become the best version of themselves through technology, people, and practices. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated temporary Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team! This role is pivotal in managing year-end statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy in accounting, timely audit and income tax return support, and compliance with Sales and Use tax collection, filing, and payment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting within the technology sector, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities- Compliance and Reporting:
Prepare and present schedules and supporting data during audits and filing preparation, coordinating and preparing responses to audit / filing inquiries as needed. - Standardize sales and use tax accounting, optimizing use of sales tax compliance software to properly reflect our nexus environment and align our collection and reporting of all appropriate taxes payable.
- Support efforts to standardize and document our Accounting department processes, especially for audits and compliance reporting.
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in audits and statutory / regulatory reporting, preferably within professional services or the technology industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Net Suite is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial compliance regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications, particularly Excel and Google Sheets.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Nice-to-have: experience in performing payroll processing, especially utilizing ADP.
- Willingness and ability to work longer hours and outside of traditional office hours if and when needed to keep time lines on track and communicate with colleagues in multiple time zones
- Flexibility and adaptability in an environment with frequently changing priorities, context switching, and tight deadlines
- Strong business acumen and ability to “connect the dots”
- Demonstrates a regular approach to work that is highly consistent with our company values and culture
- Ability to work successfully in a low-distraction work-from-home environment
