Tax Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis.

This role offers the flexibility of remote work and part-time hours, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals with substantial experience seeking a dynamic yet balanced position. Based in Long Beach, California, this role will focus on delivering high-quality tax preparation and compliance services to individuals and businesses.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns using Intuit Pro Connect Tax Online to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Verify and input tax data meticulously, referencing prior-year files for accuracy and consistency.

- Ensure adherence to federal and state tax regulations, maintaining compliance across all tax filings.

- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, providing exceptional service and addressing their tax-related inquiries.

- Handle additional tax-related tasks during peak periods to support the team and meet deadlines.

- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and resolve discrepancies in tax filings or data.

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate application in tax preparation.

- Manage high volumes of data entry work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

- Provide insights and recommendations to clients based on their tax situations, enhancing their financial outcomes. Requirements - At least 3 years of hands-on experience in tax preparation, including individual and business tax returns.

- Proficiency in Intuit Pro Connect Tax Online, with multi-season experience strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated expertise in preparing business tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

- Exceptional attention to detail and comfort with data-intensive work.

- Detail-oriented and personable demeanor with a commitment to excellent client service.

- Ability to manage additional workload during busy periods with efficiency and reliability.

- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation.

- Familiarity with corporate and individual tax processes, including month-end close procedures.
