Position OverviewWe are seeking experienced Senior Property Accountants to join our Chicago office. As a Senior Property Accountant
, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting across a diverse property portfolio. Ideal candidates will have prior property accounting or development accounting experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. This is a hybrid role with a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work. The Senior Property Accountant will also be a key partner to property management teams, providing insights that drive business decisions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual property financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts, including rent, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Assist with audits and respond to accounting inquiries.
- Collaborate with property management to ensure accurate reporting.
- Oversee vendor invoicing and payments.
- BS in Accounting or Finance required.
- 4+ years of property or development accounting experience preferred.
- CPA designation is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
