Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant
• Support fiscal operations for multiple school districts as assigned
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions
• Assist with monthly reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting
• Monitor budgets, track expenditures, and support forecasting
• Prepare documentation for state reporting and compliance
• Maintain organized and accurate records for all accounting activities
• Communicate with district personnel, municipalities, and internal leadership to ensure smooth fiscal operations
• Assist with onboarding, training, or filling in for vacancies when needed
• Travel to partnered districts occasionally for support and meetings
• Take on additional accounting or administrative projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications for the Staff Accountant
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field
• Experience with payroll, AP/AR, general accounting, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable supporting diverse districts with varying fiscal needs
• Flexible, organized, and committed to accuracy
