Accounting Lead - France

We’re hiring an Accounting Lead to take ownership of the French accounting setup in a fast-growing, multi-entity environment.

Your main goal will be to take full ownership of Shiftmove’s end-to-end accounting operations and stabilise, structure, and elevate accounting operations in France.

• Own the end-to-end French accounting framework across multiple legal entities (French GAAP)
• Review, validate, and challenge accounting entries and closing outputs prepared by the team
• Structure and improve processes, controls, and ways of working in a non‑fully structured environment
• Act as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and external partners
• Oversee statutory accounts, tax filings (VAT, corporate tax, fleet tax) and audit preparation
• Support system usage and improvements (Net Suite and/or Sage), ensuring data quality and reliability
• Partner closely with Group Finance and HQ to ensure alignment and timely reporting
• Coach and support more junior team members, raising the overall accounting standard

• Strong hands‑on experience with French GAAP in a multi‑entity environment
• Proven ability to build or rebuild accounting processes in a growing company
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and taking ownership where things aren’t fully defined
• Solid experience with VAT, corporate tax, and statutory reporting in France
• Ability to engage confidently with auditors and external advisors
• Experience with Net Suite and/or Sage is a strong plus
• Background in an accounting firm and/or a French scale‑up environment is helpful
