Experienced Accountant – Doral, FL (Hybrid)
Hybrid Role: Onsite 4 days a week with 1 day work from home.
This role requires an experienced Accountant to prepare monthly general journal entries and provide accounting and analytical support during the month‑end close process. Responsibilities include performing account analyses and variance explanations for quarterly reviews and annual audits, analyzing financial information to prepare financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and preparing account reconciliations—including prepaids and accruals—for Operations/General Accounting.
The position also involves reviewing staff accountant work for accuracy and completeness, ensuring an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close, and assisting management with special projects such as implementing departmental policies, procedures, and controls, and evaluating and streamlining processes within the department.
- Prepare monthly general journal entries.
- Provide accounting and analytical support during the month‑end close process.
- Perform account analyses and variance explanations for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Analyze financial information to prepare financial reports for month‑end.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Prepare account reconciliations, including prepaids and accruals.
- Review staff accountant work for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close.
- Assist management with special projects such as the implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and controls.
- Evaluate and streamline processes to create efficiencies within the Operations/General Accounting department.
Skills & Qualifications
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Master’s/MBA degree is a plus.
- Experience in public accounting and private sector is a plus.
- Experience in the cruise industry is a plus.
- Experience with People Soft software or large company ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding and application of US GAAP and Sarbanes‑Oxley.
- Leadership skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and work extra hours during month‑end close as needed.
The Experienced Accountant will report to a manager. The position may require working extra hours during month‑end close and as needed. The role involves working with accounting software and large company ERP systems, focusing on detail‑oriented and analytical tasks in a structured and collaborative setting.
Job Type & LocationContract position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
