What will the Senior Accountant role involve?
Preparing, submitting, and reviewing accounts and tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Providing mentorship, training, and technical guidance to your accounting pod and wider business teams
Leading by example to embody and promote company values within the accountancy team
Building strong client relationships through effective communication and onboarding new clients into your portfolio
Advising clients on tax planning and optimisation to maximise efficiency
Delivering advisory services around cash flow, budgets, and pricing, supported by ongoing training
Managing bookkeeping, VAT returns, CIS, and year-end client meetings with precision
Handling client fee reviews and liaising with HMRC and Companies House to resolve queries accurately
Supporting external client training and maintaining continuous professional development
Suitable Candidate for the Senior Accountant vacancy:
Fully qualified accountant with membership of a relevant professional body (AAT, ATT, ACCA, etc.)
5+ years experience in a busy practice environment managing a broad client base
Proven ability to prepare, review, and quality check accounts and tax returns across multiple entity types
Experience working with accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, DEXT, and Free Agent
Strong understanding of UK tax legislation with confident advisory skills
Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial information clearly and concisely
Highly organised and skilled at managing priorities and deadlines without compromising quality
Friendly, professional, and proactive with a passion for client service and professional growth
A growth mindset, open to learning and adapting, with a curious approach to challenges
