Experienced Specialist Pension Scheme Audit
We are looking to recruit a Pension Scheme Audit Assistant Manager to join our specialist pensions audit team. The assistant manager will assist with managing a portfolio of pension scheme audit and assurance clients, managing our specialist team and will contribute to our wider growth strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an assigned portfolio of pension scheme audit and assurance engagements
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee audit procedures from planning to final sign‑off
- Monitor turnaround times and ensure all project deadlines are met
- Coach, supervise and support Audit Associates and Trainees throughout each engagement
- Cultivate strong client relationships through clear, proactive communication
- Mentor team members and contribute to their professional growth and development
Qualifications and experience:
- Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
- Experience of project managing audit engagements
- Prior experience of working within the pensions industry
- Prior experience of managing team members
- Experience of using audit software and Microsoft 365 packages
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience of developing new initiatives and methodologies
In Addition;
- Experience of working of non-audit assurance engagements (AAF 01/20, AAF 05/20, AAF 02/07, ISAE 3402)
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of the latest Pensions SORP
- Willingness to travel to clients across the UK
- Solid IT skill, experience of working with Excel and Word
- Team working skills
