Our client, a small boutique public practice accounting firm located in Kelowna, BC, is seeking an experienced accounting manager to join their team.
About the ClientOur client is proud to lead a cohesive group of individuals in providing accounting and tax services to its various clients. The current accounting team consists of seven members. The firm offers a flexible working environment where employees can achieve a healthy work‑life balance.
About the RoleAs an experienced accounting manager, the successful candidate will assist in overseeing the team, planning engagements and completing files of diverse complexities within various industries. This is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in public practice. The working arrangement will be dependent upon the successful candidate, with hybrid remote work options and flexible hours.
Responsibilities- Planning and managing client engagements, including reviewing files prepared by other employees
- Providing guidance, mentorship and training as required to other staff members
- Developing strong client relationships
- Managing various aspects of the practice, including employee scheduling and tracking various deadlines
- 2+ years public accounting experience in a managerial role, including reviewing compilation engagements, corporate and personal tax returns
- Experience in Case Ware and Profile/Taxprep (or other tax software) is essential
- Comfortable working with clients from various industries
- Ability to multitask and strong problem‑solving capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound decision‑making ability and professional judgment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Effective leadership and management skills
A strong total compensation package is offered for this role, which will include an above‑average vacation package, health and dental benefits and career support such as paid CPA annual membership dues and professional development hours. Salary is commensurate with experience: $80,000 – $95,000 annually.
