Campus Services Finance & Administration (CSFA) delivers accounting, budgeting, planning, taxation, and financial administrative support to Campus Services business units.
Job Description 3>Independently perform accounting activities such as posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports. Report to the Senior Accounting Manager and support accounting functions, process automation, and internal controls for the CS Operating Unit.
Job‑Specific Responsibilities- Technology & Automation
- Serve as the accounting subject matter expert on key financial systems (e.g., Triple Seat, Agilysys).
- Leverage technology and automation to enhance accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Participate in user acceptance testing and system implementations to resolve technology‑related issues.
- Accounting & Internal Control
- Act as the lead contact for Harvard University Dining Services accounting responsibilities.
- Propose and implement improvements in accounting operations and financial reporting.
- Perform daily, monthly,, and year‑end financial closings independently.
- Independently perform complex accounting reconciliations and analysis.
- Provide guidance and leadership in key areas including CARD administration, Chart of Account administration, and system access administration.
- Other Responsibilities
- Prepare ad‑hoc reports for management and internal customers.
- Serve as backup for critical activities and cross‑train with other team members.
- Other duties as assigned to support CSFA’s mission.
On‑campus presence approximately 2 days per week. Any remote work requires compliance with Harvard’s Out of State Employment Policy.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience in Oracle Financial and IBM Maximo preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting systems, process automation, and technology‑driven workflow improvements.
Standard hours: 40 hours per week. Harvard University is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Pre‑employment screening includes identity, education, criminal, credit, CORI, and references.
