The Lead accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting functions and the financial reporting process. This role includes maintaining the integrity of accounting records by ensuring that all transactions are posted accurately and in compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. The lead accountant will also assist with month-end close activities, financial and statutory compliances along with reporting to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.

Here is how, through this exciting role, you will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

General Ledger

Manage GL functions; ensure accurate GAAP-based entries and reconciliations.

Closing Activities

Lead month/year-end close; post journal entries and perform variance analysis.

Financial Reporting

Prepare financials (BS, P&L, cash flow); ensure US GAAP/Ind AS/IGAAP compliance.

Taxation

Handle direct/indirect tax computations, journal entries, and tax filings.

Compliance & Audits

Ensure SOX/internal controls; support audits with documentation.

Process Improvement

Drive accounting efficiency and streamline processes.

Team Support

Mentor junior staff; assist in training.

Ad-Hoc Projects

Support management with special projects and financial analysis.

Education

CA with 6 to 8 years of experience.

Experience

Minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle ) and MS Office, particularly Excel.

Soft Skills

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

Full-time position.

Office environment with occasional remote work flexibility.

May require overtime during peak periods such as month-end and year-end closings.
