Senior Marketing Accountant (Contract)

A Calgary-based client is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Accountant for a 2 to 3-month contract. This position requires working in-office four days per week, with one day of your choice available for remote work. This opportunity also offers potential for conversion to permanent employment.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

Oversee and contribute to the company’s marketing accounting function.

Coordinate with stakeholders for accurate and timely invoicing of NGL and natural gas marketing activities.

Prepare and review monthly journal entries, counterparty invoices, and reconcile supporting documents.

Analyze marketing margins for internal reporting and manage account reconciliations and collections.

Identify and implement process improvements, including optimization of Excel-based billing systems.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and support ad hoc projects.

Your strengths include:

5+ years of oil and gas industry experience.

Strong understanding of financial accounting principles.

Completion of CAPPA and/or an accounting degree or certification.

Knowledge of Alberta and Saskatchewan regulations, deadlines, and Petrinex requirements; US production experience is an asset.

Proficiency with Pandell JV, Petrinex, TIPS, and Petro Net systems.

Advanced MS Excel skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic team environment.
