An established, growing, privately-held CPG manufacturing and e-commerce company is hiring a fully remote Senior Accountant, reporting direct to the Controller, and also working with the CFO and FP&A dept, all of whom also work remotely. The company 'owns' the manufacturing process at its manufacturing plant in North Carolina, and sells its products B2C via e-comm and through distributors. This is a remote position with occasional need to visit the manufacturing plant / corporate office in eastern NC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monthly financial close
• G/L account reconciliations
• J/E preparation and postings
• Assist with cost accounting and COGS
• Assist with inventory accounting
• Transactional accounting (A/P, A/R, payroll)
• Sales tax compliance/filings and reporting
• Revenue recognition under ASC 606 (pretty straightforward bill and ship rev rec)
• Fixed assets
• Intangible assets
• Assist with expense variance analysis
• Assist with annual external audit
• Identify areas for streamlining and improvement within the GL accounts and close processes

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3+ years of good experience with GAAP, monthly financial close processes, account reconciliations, J/E preparation and postings, general ledger, cost accounting and COGS, inventory accounting, transactional accounting (A/P, A/R, payroll), sales tax compliance, revenue recognition, fixed assets, intangible assets, assisting with expense variance analysis.
• Excel:
  Strong experience and working knowledge.
• Net Suite:
  Reasonably good working knowledge and experience.
• MUST HAVE 'hands on' experience at a manufacturer of its own products
  , experienced with cost accounting (establishing and updating standard costs for labor, materials and overhead, cost variance analysis and related J/E's, assisting R&D with BOM's for new products, working with management in the manufacturing plant, etc.) as well as with inventory accounting (FIFO vs LIFO, valuation, establishing and updating inventory reserves for obsolete and slow-moving inventory, physical inventory counts, cycle counts, etc.).
• This is a remote position with occasional need to visit the manufacturing plant / office in NC.
