Senior Property Accountant – Hybrid (Atlanta / Perimeter Area)

This position offers 1 day work from home and reports to the corporate accounting team in the Perimeter area.
Position OverviewThe Senior Property Accountant will serve as a key financial partner to Property Management, overseeing all aspects of general ledger activity and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets. This role ensures timely, accurate monthly closings and supports leadership with financial insights that drive operational performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform all general ledger and month-end closing duties for assigned properties using MRI or comparable property management software.
Prepare and review journal entries, including straight-line rent, accruals, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and other key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Maintain detailed supporting schedules, reconciliations, and closing checklists for each property.
Review and validate accounts payable, cash receipts, and fixed asset activity to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Partner closely with Property Managers to analyze variances, review budgets and forecasts, and assist with annual operating expense recoveries
.Provide audit support and respond to internal and external requests with professionalism and accuracy.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and assist with special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
, preferably in commercial real estateProficiency in Microsoft Excel
; experience with MRI and Nexus a plusStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines
High attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented approach
