The Staff Accountant performs a wide range of general accounting responsibilities for the daily, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting Department. Primary duties include data analysis, reporting, record keeping, research, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation. This incumbent plays a key role in ensuring streamlined processes through establishing and revising work methods, forms, and standards, focused on improving operating efficiencies.
Principal Accountabilities:- Prepares journal entries for month, quarter, and year-end close;
- Acts as the liaison between the Accounting department and various internal business partners;
- Performs account reconciliations and prepares related adjustments to the General Ledger;
- Prepares elimination & consolidation journal entries for quarter and year-end close;
- Works as part of the team responsible for recording fixed asset transactions;
- Records investment-related transactions;
- Reviews monthly department financial reports for discrepancies or large variances;
- Conducts monthly financial meetings with business partners;
- Coordinates with insurance broker to provide business partners with Certificates of Insurance.
- Assists with audit requests, as needed.
- Performs research and special projects, as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting-related systems and applications
- Proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding analytical skills and quantitative aptitude
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage multiple projects
This role offers the flexibility of a remote work arrangement, with occasional business travel as needed.

Annual base salary may vary based on geographic location. The New York metro salary range for this position is estimated to be between $73,500 - 75,000 per year.
