We are hiring a Staff Account or Bookkeeper to support a public accounting firm in Troy, MI. Person will perform accounting and tax services for small to medium sized companies.

POSITION TYPE:
Full time, direct hire, onsite. PAY: $55,000 to $65,000 annual plus PTO and Benefits

Requirements of the Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting or a CPA firm setting.
• Proven experience in financial management and general ledger accounting is essential.
• Strong of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP.
• Experience with tax preparation and compliance is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
• Technical skills with MS Office, Excel and Quick Books are required.

Duties of the Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper:

• Prepare and review client financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance for clients, recording financial transactions accurately.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
• Assist in financial auditing processes to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
• Conduct cash flow analysis to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
• Support private equity initiatives by providing necessary financial data and insights.
