Job Overview

Tax Associate at H&R Block – work with clients to prepare accurate tax returns and build relationships that grow client retention and revenue.

• Conduct one‑on‑one tax interviews with clients face‑to‑face or via virtual tools – video, phone, chat, and email.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
• Identify opportunities to cross‑sell additional products and services to increase client retention and business growth.
• Provide clients with IRS support and guidance.
• Collaborate with office priorities, working closely with team members and agencies.
• Grow your tax expertise through continual learning and training.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment.
• Ability to work a minimum of 25‑35 hours weekly throughout tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or an equivalent income tax course.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across phone, email, and in‑person formats.
• Must meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.

$11.00 – $27.00 per hour.
