Role Overview

The Commercial Director will accelerate the Mass Retail strategy within Germany, focusing on Grocery & Discount channels (LEH + Discount). Reporting to the Senior Commercial Director Germany, you will deliver the Go‑to‑Market strategy, exceed KPIs and shape medium‑to‑long‑term channel plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full commercial ownership of Grocery and Discount channels in Germany.
  • Develop and execute differentiated strategies for each retailer, aligned with broader commercial goals.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of National Account Managers and Key Account executives.
  • Own sales forecast, gross margins, trade spend, promotional budgets and revenue targets per customer.
  • Lead annual negotiations with local and regional customers including buying groups.
  • Build strong, trust‑based partnerships with top retailer partners.
  • Contribute to wider Germany sales success as a key member of the leadership team, deputising for the Senior Sales Director as required.
What We Are Looking For

We expect a people‑focused, courageous, results‑oriented leader who fully embraces an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • An outstanding track record of senior leadership success in sales (Mass and or Discount channel ideal, but not required) – 8–10 years’ experience.
  • Strong track record in negotiations and market‑share growth.
  • Demonstrated success in both strategic planning and execution.
  • Proven people‑development experience.
  • International experience is an advantage.
Desired Skills
  • Strong, resilient mindset and inspirational leadership qualities.
  • Superior communication and influencing skills.
  • Fluency in German and English.
