Stellenbeschreibung
Stellenbezeichnung: Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

About dlthub

dltHub is built on dlt, the most widely adopted open-source Python library for data loading with ~4 Million monthly downloads. We are building the next generation of AI-native data tooling on top of our strong OSS foundation.

We move and iterate fast, and ship with a strong bias toward experimentation, automation and user-centric AI workflows. We’re a highly dynamic, fast-moving team founded by experienced data and ML engineers, with roots in Berlin and a growing presence in the US.

Founded by experienced data and ML engineers, we're backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Foundation Capital, Dig Ventures, and technical founders from Hugging Face, Instanta, Matillion, Miro, Mother Duck, Data Dog, Mode, Lance

DB and Rasa. Our team is driven by clear values: we speak with courage, build what matters, automate relentlessly, show up with energy, deliver on commitments, and win together.

🚀 About the Role

We are building the next generation of AI-native data tooling - building our AI-first data platform on top of our popular open-source data ingestion core.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial platform engineer based in Berlin who thrives in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy and ownership. You will work on solving platform engineering challenges for our internal teams and customers: managing multi-cloud infrastructure (GCP and AWS), Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, security, reliability, and observability. You will own the infrastructure-as-code that provisions and maintains our production environments.

🗂️

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and operate infrastructure-as-code and Kubernetes platforms (networking, security policies, Helm deployments) across cloud environments.
  • Own projects end-to-end: design, planning, implementation, testing, documentation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Improve platform usability and self-service through excellent documentation and well-designed developer workflows.
  • Shape architecture and technical direction through design/code reviews and hands-on implementation.
  • Maintain high standards for reliability and security: observability, scalability, performance, and incident response (incl. post-incident improvements).
  • Partner with Solution Engineering and customers to translate user needs into clean, maintainable, enterprise-ready solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and promote a culture of experimentation, staying current with AI-assisted workflows and modern data architectures.
What We’re Looking For ✅ Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in platform engineering (data engineering experience is a plus).
  • Experience with GCP, AWS, Azure or similar cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking, compute, storage, and data-related technologies.
  • Experience working with production kubernetes administration, cloud networking, cloud security, reliability, and data-intensive applications.
  • Strong software engineering skills.
  • Strong IaC knowledge with extensive experience in Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK/Cloud Formation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-first mindset and high degree of autonomy and ownership.
  • Passion and curiosity for AI-assisted software development workflows.
  • Based in Berlin and open to working onsite regularly (3-4 days per week)
🎯 Nice to Have
  • Experience building developer-facing platforms or tooling
  • Data platform experience
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Experience building multi-cloud products (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar platforms)

In our work culture, we value each other’s autonomy and efficiency. We have set hours for communication and deep work. We like automation, so we automate our work before we automate the work of others.

  • We are an office-first company but give you plenty of opportunities for deep work and work from home. Dedicated "no meeting days" to help the team focus on their most impactful work.
  • As we mostly work from the Berlin office, we cover your public transportation ticket.
  • We are deeply committed to your personal and professional growth, and as such, we allocate an annual budget for learning and development.
  • We offer regular subsidized team lunches.
  • Urban Sports Club membership.
  • For roles that contribute directly to shaping our product and company, we offer an ESOP plan, tailored to each employee’s role and level of commitment.
