Park & Recreation Grounds Worker; Part-Time

Job Summary

The City of Oneonta Park & Recreation Department is seeking a dependable part-time employee to assist with routine grounds maintenance at Park & Recreation facilities. This entry-level position focuses primarily on mowing, weed-eating, and general landscaping tasks to help maintain clean, safe, and attractive public spaces.

• Mow grass and perform weed-eating at Park & Recreation properties.

• Perform general and grounds upkeep, including trimming, edging, and debris removal.

• Assist with basic cleanup of park areas and common spaces.

• Operate basic landscaping equipment safely and properly.

• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisors.

• Follow all safety guidelines and departmental procedures.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions, including heat.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.

• Valid driver's license preferred.

• Up to 28 hours per week

• Flexible scheduling based on department needs.

• Primarily daytime hours; occasional early mornings may be required.
