Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at our local retail store, your role will support and oversee repair within Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC equipment team, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart’s safety policies and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 2 years experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 to 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.

• Completion of a 2-year HVAC/R vocational or technical program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, job level, and other job‑related factors. Eligible for bonus incentive.
