Spee Dee Delivery is a family‑owned and operated company started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is standard, next‑day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility are located in St. Cloud, MN. With over 1,800 employees across the Midwest, we have expanded throughout the region.

The Lead Route Driver is responsible for leading a group of Route Drivers in their day‑to‑day duties.

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – completion of route
• 5‑15 hours of overtime may be required each week
• May be required to cover variable shifts based on business needs
• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $21.00‑$25.00 per hour, based on experience

• Complete routes for employees who are absent
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks, and other duties as needed
• Assist with the initial training period of new drivers
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

• Ability to operate a manual transmission, or willingness to learn
• Good customer service and organizational skills
• Leadership skills and the ability to make quick decisions

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record meeting company standards

• Pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, and move freight on and off company vehicle
• Lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
• Handle freight including hazardous material, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
