This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Food Program Manager oversees the development and operations of various food programs and/or other food related services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Manages, trains and monitors activity in relation to the Child & Adult Care Food Program to ensure full compliance and cost effectiveness of program.
- Monitors program operations, equipment, files and facilities, to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations including state childcare licensing requirements.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions and develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents and vendors.
- Maintains regular, clear and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Follows food safety guidelines and maintains food safety training/certification(s).
- Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas, including cleaning food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and equipment/utensils.
- Pre‑cook, prepare and store items in order to prepare them for later use.
- Wash, cut, measure and prepare foods designated for cooking while ensuring all food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
- Clean, stock, restock and manage inventory of kitchen and storage areas.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be 19 years or older
- Related food service experience and/or course work preferred
- Completed within 30 days of hire: YMCA cause and culture, program specific, Abuse Prevention and Safety trainings (provided by YCMA)
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check

- Hours may include evening and weekend work.
