Generator Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Generator Field Service Technician in Omaha to perform repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting on a variety of generator sets. The ideal candidate will have experience working with major engine brands and possess strong technical and diagnostic skills.

• Perform repair and maintenance on all makes and models of generator sets.
• Inspect, service, and start-up load bank test equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and repair generator components, including alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, and battery systems.
• Apply technical expertise in engine inspection, failure analysis, assembly, diagnostics, and performance testing.
• Identify root causes of equipment failure using logical troubleshooting methods and determine corrective actions.
• Service and repair engines from major manufacturers, including Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU, and Volvo

• 1+ years of commercial/industrial experience as a generator technician (preferred but not required).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ownership of personal hand tools required for the job.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and diagnostic tools.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• OEM training & certifications are a plus.
• EGSA certification is a plus.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs or more as required.
