Job Summary
FSCA is currently hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to join our recently acquired company,
Corcoran Fleet Services
, to support our combined future growth. If you are looking for a new place to call home, we would love to talk with you. The Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties as assigned at our customer locations. The Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician continues to learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques.
A successful Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics.
- You will work on various light/medium duty vehicles such as F-150, F-250, and F-350, including some specialty equipment.
- Travel is required 100% of the time. This position will service multiple customers in your area and around the state, depending on customer concentration.
- A rotating schedule of Mon-Fri the first week and Mon-Sat the second week (Home every day).
- This is a Flat Rate Position with abundant work available.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light/medium vehicles in the field.
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as some diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various vehicle systems including electrical, braking, cooling, engine electronics, transmissions, and more.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as scanners and pressure gauges.
- Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and evaluate alternatives.
- Order and pick up parts needed for installation.
- Maintain compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- Document work according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO).
- Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion, as applicable.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist in daily cleanup of tools, parts, and equipment.
- Apply knowledge gained through formal training or on-the-job experience to perform duties; interpret and apply technical information.
- Collaborate with the support team to assess customer needs and resolve their problems or meet their expectations.
- Manage concurrent tasks and prioritize work-related activities and time allocations.
- Operate with integrity, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and work within or near standard repair times.
- Communicate with the support team to obtain approvals on repair estimates and discuss RO findings.
- Complete all required safety training and perform daily pre/post trip inspections of assigned service vehicle.
- Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Automotive Technician working on light/medium vehicle repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skill/experience.
- 2 years of equivalent experience in a similar capacity Technician role.
- Participation in and completion of required company training.
- Understand the implications of new information for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor.
- Effective two-way communication and ability to convey information clearly.
- Determine the type of tools and equipment needed.
- Judgment to identify relative distances and assess objects.
- Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternatives and approaches to problems.
- Flat Rate. $25.00 to $30.00+ per hour based on experience and location. (Paid weekly)
