Equipment Mechanic; Union

Role Summary

The Equipment Mechanic will provide routine and non-routine maintenance support to the day-to-day Blue Hat Equipment operations. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment as per manufacturer specifications, supporting the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, diagnostic equipment inspections and repair operations on breakdowns for construction equipment per manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns on site or via phone using effective communication skills with field operations.
• Accurately document and enter maintenance and repair data.
• Communicate timely via phone and email with internal and external partners regarding maintenance questions.
• Order parts for equipment repairs using the work order system, determining manufacturer requirements and specifications.
• Receive, organize, store and distribute equipment parts and supplies.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to learn the operating/accounting system for data entry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance operations including engine oil changes, hydraulic pump and cylinder functions, diesel engine operations, basic electrical functions.
• Provide excellent customer service through positive interaction with customers.
• Build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally.

• High School/GED or equivalent (Required).
• Apprentice Program or vocational training on equipment repair (Preferred).
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of above.

• 2+ years mechanic or maintenance operations (Preferred).

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Typically travel is not required.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
• Frequent activity: standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
• Occasional activity: sitting, viewing computer screen.
