Responsibilities
  • Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.
  • Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
  • Champion On-Shelf Availability and be responsible for receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes. Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
  • Review and coordinate proper use of reports and system applications to ensure accurate front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
  • Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset‑protection techniques. File claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods, including prescription drugs.
  • Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including all required system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.
Customer Experience
  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. As leader on duty, resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience.
Operations
  • Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
  • Scan in all deliveries while the vendor is still in store, focusing on One Box receiving. Take appropriate action, mark delivery as received, contact vendor for undelivered receipts, and open tickets as needed.
  • Under pharmacist‑in‑charge supervision, verify all pharmacy shipments are posted for products physically received. Complete or verify postings of all pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescription, OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, flu and dropship orders, ensuring accurate reporting of shortages or damaged product.
  • Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process including warehouse and direct store delivery (DSD) for planogrammed departments, executing disposals, call‑ins, and vendor returns before expiration.
  • Perform pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls following Pharmacy Hazardous Waste Policy, vendor returns, non‑controlled, and damaged salvage returns. Facilitate excess inventory returns and inter‑store pharmacy transfers where applicable.
  • Execute all pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and markdown deletes. Responsible for basic department pricing, daily price changes, accurate pricing with correct signage, and regulatory pricing tasks.
  • Support front end and pharmacy ordering by ordering expense items and monitoring pharmacy manual orders to identify excess orders. Maintain consigned inventory and order as required.
  • Ensure all designated pull & quarantine item on‑hands are updated and placed in the designated holding area.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts, including on‑hand quantities for basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
  • Ensure the store maintains inventory compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records, including receiving and posting of all products in all inventory systems. Organize files and retain invoices/receipts/return authorizations.
  • Help prepare for physical inventory and support physical inventory day activities, including preparing the sales floor, stockroom, and pharmacy, and auditing the third‑party team on inventory day.
  • Support keeping all counters and shelves clean and well merchandised.
  • Cooperate and assist store team on package delivery activities and Pickup Program execution.
  • As leader on duty, register all related sales on the POS, handle scanning errors, price verifications, item adjustments, returns, voids, refunds, cash drops, and provide change as requested.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Complete any additional activities and tasks as assigned.
