Early Morning Stock Associate

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them, maintaining a clean work area, and presenting merchandise appropriately.
  • Assists customers at the register and with merchandise inquiries.
  • Responds promptly to customer service calls and resolves issues courteously.
  • Performs cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, and replenishing restroom supplies.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items per company best practices and monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Follows safety protocols, maintains a clutter‑free sales floor, and reports unsafe conditions.
  • Adheres to all company policies regarding cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions.
  • Supports the company brand and represents Ross Inc. with integrity and honesty.
Essential Functions
  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors.
  • Maintains high awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment.
  • Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers at all times.
  • Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks to maintain merchandise, customer, and team areas.
  • Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep store neat and organized.
  • Understands Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Follows Mark-Out-of-Stock policies and cash handling procedures.
  • Maximizes productivity by executing best practices and minimizing steps.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
  • Effectively communicates with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Associates who work stockroom shifts may need to push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
