Key Responsibilities- Ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them, maintaining a clean work area, and presenting merchandise appropriately.
- Assists customers at the register and with merchandise inquiries.
- Responds promptly to customer service calls and resolves issues courteously.
- Performs cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, and replenishing restroom supplies.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items per company best practices and monthly presentation guidelines.
- Follows safety protocols, maintains a clutter‑free sales floor, and reports unsafe conditions.
- Adheres to all company policies regarding cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions.
- Supports the company brand and represents Ross Inc. with integrity and honesty.
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors.
- Maintains high awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment.
- Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers at all times.
- Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks to maintain merchandise, customer, and team areas.
- Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep store neat and organized.
- Understands Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follows Mark-Out-of-Stock policies and cash handling procedures.
- Maximizes productivity by executing best practices and minimizing steps.
- Effectively communicates with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Associates who work stockroom shifts may need to push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
