Position Summary
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) – Key Responsibilities
- Handle inpatient and outpatient care, collaborating closely with veterinarians.
- Assist in exam rooms with tasks such as:
- Taking patient history and vital signs.
- Confirming weight and reviewing vaccine needs.
- Preparing vaccines, collecting samples, and running diagnostic tests.
- Providing client education and assisting with animal restraint.
- Conduct independent appointments for procedures including:
- Pedicures, suture removals, and certain vaccine administrations.
- Bloodwork or other lab sample monitoring.
- Surgery admissions/discharges and general patient care.
- Complete daily checklists and assigned responsibilities.
- Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and veterinarians:
- In person, by phone, and for ongoing and follow-up care.
- Provide updates on patient monitoring.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor:
- Wear professional attire, including a name tag.
- Ensure a groomed appearance and exhibit excellent communication skills.
