Overview
Nebraska Equine Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned five-plus doctor, all-equine practice located in Omaha, Nebraska. We provide a full range of veterinary care to a mixed population of horses in Nebraska and western Iowa. Our equine patients include performance horses across nearly every discipline, as well as a variety of pleasure and backyard horses. Services include sports medicine and lameness, medicine, surgery, dentistry, advanced imaging, immunization and wellness, regenerative medicine, reproduction, chiropractic and acupuncture, pre-purchase exams, and 24/7 emergency care.
We are a growing practice with potential to develop more advanced services in surgery, imaging, and reproduction. We have defined parameters for handling after-hour emergencies due to the large geographic area of our clientele, with a call radius of approximately 60 miles. We utilize two referral veterinary schools as referral options.
Nebraska Equine Veterinary Clinic sees both haul-in and ambulatory cases. The clinic/hospital building includes a front office, doctor offices, staff breakroom, technician laboratory for routine in-house lab work (including a federal Coggins lab), two exam rooms with stocks, a surgery suite with two induction/recovery rooms, and indoor stalls. Ambulatory trucks are stocked with most equipment to provide advanced care for horses in the field.
We have multiple DR units and ultrasound machines, shockwave, and upper airway and gastric endoscopy equipment.
We are searching for a full-time or part-time equine veterinarian who wants to make Nebraska Equine and, more importantly, Omaha, their home. Work hours are Monday through Friday with an emergency on-call schedule split evenly between five doctors, which translates to roughly one weekend and 4–6 weekday nights per month.
Compensation and BenefitsInitial compensation will be salary-based, leading eventually to commission and salary-based as you become part of the practice. Employee benefits include liability insurance, CE allowance, national and state association fees, medical insurance, disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, discounted veterinary services, and personal leave.
Culture and CollaborationWe look forward to adding an additional veterinarian to our team, which continually works together to learn from each other and advance the level of equine medicine we provide. We aim to embrace the daily process of learning the "art" and science of equine veterinary medicine, prioritizing a good culture and collaboration between colleagues, both within the clinic and with area veterinarians.
