GHR Healthcare - PH Division is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.
Job Details- Location: Omaha, NE 68114
- Unit: Cardiac ICU (CVPICU), 32 beds – Pediatric Cardiac ICU / PICU
- Job Title / Role: PICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Pediatric ICU RN – Night Shift
- Shift: Night, 4 x 12‑hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
- Weekly
Hours:
36 - Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 3/23/2026 – End: 6/22/2026)
- Typical Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics (post‑op cardiac, congenital heart disease, transplants)
- Weekend Coverage: Required (3 out of 6 weekends per contract)
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Travel Nurses: First‑time travelers welcome — ideal for travel nurse PICU opportunities
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250 – $2370 per week
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric cardiac ICU experience required (Pediatric Cardiac ICU, CVPICU)
- Current and valid RN license in the state of practice
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Experience or exposure to ECMO & CRRT preferred
- Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, post‑cardiac surgery care, and ventilator management
- Comfortable with invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, arterial, RA) and advanced cardiac support
- Ability to float to PICU, NICU, and Med/Surg as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Deliver high‑quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post‑op open hearts, single ventricles, heart transplants, and heart failure
- Perform and manage invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, ART, RA) and interpret hemodynamic data
- Administer and titrate vasopressors, inotropes, cardiac and sedation drips
- Provide care for patients on ECMO and CRRT in collaboration with specialized teams
- Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and acute airways; interpret arterial blood gases
- Manage chest tubes, central lines, and PICC lines; perform advanced pediatric assessments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, physical therapy, and physicians to ensure coordinated care
- Float to other units (PICU, NICU, Med/Surg) as needed to support patient care and unit staffing
