Position SummaryPART - TIME TEMPORARY
Research Nurse Coordinator with UNMC Children’s Hospital Research Institute (CHRI) will be directly responsible for conducting study procedures as required by study protocol at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center (CHMC) and Nebraska Medicine – Nebraska Medical Center (NMC). Occasional travel between the two inpatient sites (CHMC and NMC) is required.
This will include subject enrollment and coordination of patient care treatment during participation in clinical research trials, along with coordination and management of complex decisions and regulatory requirements of each research protocol. Will be involved in all aspects of each research protocol facilitating the mission of UNMC and CHRI investigators to effectively participate in translational research and investigational protocols.
This is a temporary hourly position with varied hours and hour availability (i.e., PRN).
Conduct study procedures in accordance with protocols at multiple sites.
Coordinate subject enrollment, patient care, and treatment during clinical research trials.
Manage complex decisions and regulatory requirements related to each protocol.
Facilitate communication with investigators to support translational research and investigational protocols.
- Relevant coursework/specialized training in Nursing.
- 1 year of prior nursing experience in a patient facility or clinical setting.
- Current Nebraska RN license or license eligible.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of current nursing procedures, techniques, and practices.
- Ability to perform physical assessments and patient teaching as required by research protocol.
- Knowledge of performing patient chart reviews.
- Flexibility in work hours to manage patient and study protocol workload.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and make independent clinical judgments.
- Strong organization, flexibility, accountability, team player, and self‑initiative.
- Computer literacy desirable.
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of age‑specific needs of patients served (all age groups – birth and above).
- Maintain accountability for own actions in completing assigned tasks.
- Pediatric background and experience related to clinical trials coordination.
- Knowledge of healthcare financial environment and reimbursement systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
- Experience with Research EDC.
