DescriptionProject Harmony is looking for an experienced and committed Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic and innovative organization. This full‑time RN will provide compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable services to Project Harmony clients, supporting medical providers and, at times, performing medical evaluation, care, and treatment for children of suspected abuse.

- Manage the daily operation of the medical clinic, including rooming patients, scheduling/intake of foster care exams and hair tests, medication administration as required by Project Harmony’s protocol, testing and lab coordination, and organization/stocking of supplies.
- Provide nursing support to medical providers during examinations; at times perform medical evaluation, care, and treatment for children of suspected abuse as directed by protocol; document clinical services and phone calls accurately in the electronic health record and ETO.
- Enter lab results, conduct follow‑up phone calls, perform follow‑up testing as indicated, and manage patient documents for the electronic medical record and file.
- Maintain supply inventory, monitor stock levels, anticipate needed supplies, place and expedite orders, and verify receipt of supplies.
- Conduct hair testing for drug exposure of children as directed by USDTL; manage hair test forms, logs, send out and receive results, and update the appropriate parties.
- Coordinate care with families, investigators, and community providers.
- Provide testimony, as needed, in court regarding medical examinations performed on children.
- Provide child abuse education to professionals in partner agencies and the community.
- Rotate 24/7 on‑call responsibilities and remain flexible with schedule and call needs.
- Ensure culturally competent services are provided to all families without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, gender, or sexual orientation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Program Manager.
- Registered Nurse degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Licensed in Nebraska as a Registered Nurse.
- Attain Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), pediatric and adolescent, training within six months of hire.
- Keep up to date with all continuing education requirements for state license and/or any other certifications held.
- Experience in medical examinations of children.
- Some training and experience in the child welfare system and working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) is desired but not required.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records is useful.
- Ability to establish rapport with children/families of child abuse and neglect.
- Effective listening and communication skills.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to resolve conflicts.
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Word) and other software/databases (EPIC, ETO, etc.).
- Flexibility and adaptability to stressful and ever‑changing situations.
- Organized and detail‑oriented.
- Time‑management skills.
- Respect for and maintenance of confidentiality.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Subject to a thorough criminal history background check.
- Access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
- Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state.
