We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pre Op/Phase II team. The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive pre‑operative and post‑operative care to patients, including admission, assessment, care, and discharge stability.

Schedule:

8:30 AM – 9:00 PM, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Major Responsibilities & Duties
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to complete pre‑operative physical, cognitive, spiritual, and psychosocial assessments of patients awaiting surgery.
  • Formulate and continuously revise the plan of care based on patient age and developmental level.
  • Ensure accurate nursing documentation and report to other team members following hospital OR policy.
  • Supervise LPNs in direct patient care functions and sign off charting completed in medical records.
  • Assess patient/family understanding and educational needs, redirecting care as required.
  • Participate in or prepare for in‑services and patient care conferences.
  • Maintain The Joint Commission standards and assist unit readiness for visits.
  • Participate in department performance‑improvement activities.
  • Serve on hospital or system committees and communicate with Surgery Center staff.
  • Provide patient care and education appropriate to the population served.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate clinical competence in safe, quality direct patient care and education, and assist the provider in advanced care delivery.
  • Communicate concisely with patients, families, and staff and collaborate with team members to enhance care.
  • Make nursing assessments and think critically.
  • Possess detailed knowledge of equipment and supplies maintenance.
  • Complete patient documentation thoroughly, accurately, and timely.
  • Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and stressful situations.
  • Independently manage multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications
  • Registered nurse graduated from an accredited school with a current state license.
  • CPR (BLS) certification.
  • ACLS certification within six months of hire or transfer.
  • PALS certification within six months of hire or transfer.
  • Experience with computer programs and electronic medical records.
  • On‑call availability to provide continuous or rotational support.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of acute‑hospital experience.
  • Pediatric experience.
