Job Summary

NEONATAL NNP opportunity for a provider who is excited to provide comprehensive care to high-risk infants and their families. Experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical care in a Neonatal ICU inpatient setting
  • Take medical histories, perform complete physical examinations, and initiate appropriate lab, radiology, and other tests required for evaluation
  • Perform routine and specialized procedures as credentialed
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as appropriate
  • Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with physicians, nursing and other medical personnel
  • Educate patient families and answer questions regarding disease, treatments, drug side effects and hazards
  • Refer patients to specialists as appropriate
  • Be a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary care team with advanced communication skills
Opportunity Highlights
  • Full Time (.9 FTE)
  • Shifts are 12 and 24 hours
  • Level II & III Neonatal Intensive Care Units
  • Experienced and collegial group of neonatologists, nurse practitioners, nurses and support staff
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage the care of critically ill neonates in the NICU
  • First year on campus of Creighton University Bergan Mercy Medical Center (level III NICU); may also provide care at CHI Lakeside Hospital (level III NICU) and CHI Immanuel Hospital (level II NICU)

Job Requirements
  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
  • Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required
  • NE License required
  • BLS, PALS and NRP required
