Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Full Time Overview

Position Summary: The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy services. The PMHNP will work collaboratively with virtual assistants, office staff, behavioral technicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners to coordinate client care, assist with insurance pre-authorization, and support general caseload management. This is a full-time position with scheduling flexibility, offering either a 4-day or 5-day workweek
, with work hours to be determined based on clinic needs and provider preference.

Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy services.
  • Collaborate with virtual assistants, office staff, behavioral technicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners to coordinate client care, assist with insurance pre-authorization, and support general caseload management.

Job Requirements and

Qualifications:

Required

Education:

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing
  • Focus in psychiatric/mental health nursing

Minimum

Required Experience:

  • At least 1 year providing direct client care to individuals receiving psychiatric treatment

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Unrestricted and current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice
  • Valid and unrestricted DEA license
  • Ability to prescribe controlled substances in practicing states
  • Registered with the state prescription drug monitoring program
  • No suspension, exclusion, or debarment from participation in any healthcare programs
