PCU / Med-Surg RN – Oncology & Trauma (6 East) Unit:
Mixed PCU, Oncology & Med-Surg | Beds: 27–28 Ratios: PCU 1:4 (Days), Med-Surg 1:5 | Nights 1:5–6

Shifts:

12 hrs (7a–7p / 7p–7a) | Self-scheduling | Every other weekend Orientation: 2 days Exam:
Open-book, Pass/Fail on Friday of orientation (90% required to pass or termination) Requirements:
Minimum 1 year PCU + Oncology experience Chemo Certification required (ONS/ONCC) Charge experience required (minimum 1 year) First-time travelers accepted BLS & ACLS required Must titrate drips (insulin occasionally, cardizem) Common drips: chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, protonix Policies: 50-mile radius rule (verified via driver’s license at submission) Cannot be current FT/PT/PRN with Common Spirit/CHI/Dignity No artificial nails (non-compliance = termination) Floating:
Med-Surg & PCU (same level of care) EMR: EPIC | IV Pumps:
Alaris Support Staff: CNAs, Charge RN, PT/OT, Case Manager, Social Work, Educator, Dietician Due at Submission: DOB, SSN, Phone, Email, Permanent Address, Driver’s License, RTO (max 7 days per 13 weeks), EPIC experience (if within 6 months), prior CHI/Dignity work history Patient Focus:
Oncology & Trauma PCU patients; strong teamwork, compassion, cultural sensitivity, and patient-centered care expected.
