Inpatient Wound Care & Ostomy Registered Nurse (RN) - Common Spirit Partner
Healogics, LLC invites applications for the Inpatient Wound Care & Ostomy Registered Nurse (RN) position. The role involves providing clinical evaluation and patient care for wound and ostomy patients, collaborating with attending providers for initial care plans, and supporting the outpatient Wound Care Center (WCC®) when needed. Under the direction of the Inpatient Nurse Manager, the nurse will maintain day‑to‑day patient care responsibilities while ensuring compliance with Healogics, hospital, accrediting, and CMS guidelines.
EssentialFunctions / Responsibilities
- Adhere to established medical and nursing practice standards and hospital policies.
- Provide patient care for wound care and ostomy patients.
- Perform and document nursing wound and/or ostomy assessment, communicating findings, assessing wound stage or grade, and identifying care situations requiring intervention.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, educate patients or caregivers, and advocate for patient care.
- Provide stoma site marking services as requested.
- Contribute to nursing orientation focused on skin assessment, documentation, and prevention of pressure injuries.
- Serve as a resource for staff and patients on wound and ostomy product selection and use.
- Contribute to discharge planning meetings on units managing patients with wounds and ostomies.
- Provide nursing support to the outpatient wound center when census or staffing requires it.
- Monitor use of pressure‑redistribution surfaces using approved criteria.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Current RN license in the state of practice, to be maintained throughout employment.
- Current CPR certification (BLS).
- Minimum one year of related experience in wound care and acute care; case management and discharge planning experience preferred.
- Wound and Ostomy Certification preferred or as required by state (AAWM or WOCN preferable). Willingness to obtain certification within 12 months if not certified.

Hourly rate generally ranges between $38.20 and $46.67 per hour, estimated based on qualifications, experience, geography, and operational needs.
