Registered Nurse Interventional Radiology – CHI
Job SummaryThe Interventional Radiology RN is responsible for the safe care of patients undergoing Interventional Radiology Procedures (diagnostics, biopsies, embolizations, and drain placements). Responsibilities include the administration and monitoring of moderate sedation, assisting with airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of critical care infusions. The RN must be able to respond to emergency situations and assist with the triage of inpatients and the daily procedural flow to ensure optimal efficiencies.
Responsibilities- Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs
- Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders
- Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
- Documenting all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s records
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license practicing in the state
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- One year of RN experience required, 18 months preferred
- Highly preferred IR, Cath Lab, ICU, or PACU experience (hemodynamic monitoring, advanced airways, ventilatory support, critical care drips, IV pressors, and ACLS‑related drugs)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Specialty certification (e.g., CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred
- Additional certification or licensure may be required for some specialty areas
- Responsible and compassionate Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively educate patients and families on in‑home healthcare processes
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy, a patient‑centered Level I trauma and academic medical center. Services include trauma, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.
Pay Range$36.00 – $52.20 per hour
