Position: Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Nurse in Med Surg, where clinical expertise, compassionate patient advocacy, and collaborative teamwork converge in the vibrant setting of Omaha, Nebraska. Starting 01/26/2026, you can embrace a multi‑week assignment that provides stability with guaranteed 36 hours per week and a competitive weekly pay range of $2,038 to $2,093.

On the Med Surg unit, you’ll care for medical and post‑operative patients who are navigating recovery, acute episodes, or transitional care. Your responsibilities will span comprehensive patient assessments, continuous monitoring of vitals and telemetry, administration of medications and IV therapies, wound and drain care, pain management, and careful discharge planning. You’ll partner with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to craft individualized care plans, educate patients and families, coordinate resources, and safeguard safety and infection control standards.

As you guide patients from admission toward stability and independence, you’ll influence throughput, reduce complications, and elevate the overall patient experience. This role is designed for growth within Med Surg, offering opportunities to pursue additional certifications, engage in evidence‑based practice projects, participate in unit education, and explore leadership tracks as you demonstrate clinical excellence and confidence in fast‑paced environments.

Nebraska’s beauty is an inspiring backdrop to your nursing journey. Expansive prairies glow at dawn, the Sandhills roll into the horizon, and the Missouri River corridor provides scenic escapes for weekends. In Omaha, the Old Market buzzes with culture, dining, and events, while family‑friendly parks, museums, and a thriving garden scene offer downtime to recharge. The state’s welcoming communities pair with a strong healthcare network, making it a remarkable place to develop your Med Surg expertise and enjoy a balanced lifestyle.

Location benefits extend beyond Omaha’s appeal. You’ll join a thriving urban enclave with affordable housing, excellent restaurants, and a network of educational and professional resources that support nurses in advancing their careers. For travel professionals who crave variety, the program also offers opportunities to work in diverse locations across the United States, exposing you to varied patient populations, hospital systems, and clinical protocols while you benefit from consistent support and the security of a robust travel program.

Whether you stay in Omaha to deepen your local impact or explore other regions to broaden your clinical perspective, you’ll carry with you the confidence that the company stands beside you with comprehensive backing.

Role specifics go beyond bedside care. You’ll maintain accountability for patient advocacy, timely recognition of clinical changes, and collaborative care planning with interdisciplinary teams. Expect to manage complex cases, coordinate with discharge planners, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Telemetry, IV therapy, wound care, and symptom management will be part of your daily routine, alongside accurate documentation in electronic health records and adherence to evidence‑based standards.

The position supports professional growth through mentorship, continuing education allowances, and pathways to specialization within Med Surg.

Competitive benefits include a bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities to continue the assignment or transfer to additional locations. You’ll receive 24/7 support as you travel with the company, including round‑the‑clock access to scheduling help, clinical guidance, and housing resources, ensuring you feel secure and connected no matter the shift or site. With a focus on safety, onboarding, and ongoing resource access, you’ll be empowered to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care across diverse settings.

The company’s values are clear: empower your staff, foster career advancement, and cultivate a supportive, collaborative workplace where every nurse’s voice matters. You’ll find leaders who invest in your development, celebrate your milestones, and champion a culture…
