PURPOSE:
The Chief Development & Strategic Partnerships Officer (CDSPO) is responsible for advancing the organization's strategic priorities through philanthropic support, partnerships, and community engagement. The role provides leadership for development, communications, and relationship-building efforts to enhance organizational visibility, impact, and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide overall leadership for development, fundraising, and strategic partnership initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, funders, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Oversee communications and public relations efforts to support the organization's mission and enhance brand visibility.
- Lead the planning and execution of organizational campaigns, special events, and engagement activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments and executive leadership to align development and partnership strategies with organizational goals.
- Support the Board of Directors and relevant committees in development and partnership initiatives.
- Manage grant-related activities, including research, proposal development, and reporting, as appropriate.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the development and communications teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Overall growth in fundraising, philanthropic support, and partnerships.
- Strength and expansion of donor and partner relationships.
- Successful implementation of development and partnership initiatives.
- Alignment of development and partnership efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
- Engagement and collaboration with internal teams, Board members, and community stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Experience in development, fundraising, or partnership management in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with donors, funders, and community partners.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience overseeing teams and managing projects, with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Understanding of fundraising practices, grant management, and nonprofit operations preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High ethical standards and discretion.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and organizational needs.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
The work environment is primarily an office setting with typical temperature and noise levels. Occasional travel is required for donor meetings, fundraising events, and community visits to increase public visibility and deepen engagement. Flexibility is essential, including availability to attend events during evenings and weekends.
