The Urban Plunge City Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the success of the Urban Plunge program in their city. This position involves managing logistics, fostering relationships, and creating impactful ministry opportunities for participating groups.

Major Responsibilities
  • Ministry Partner Engagement:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with 6-12 local Ministry Partners offering diverse service opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Ministry Partners to create tailored schedules for each Urban Plunge group.
    • Notify and confirm Ministry Partners regarding upcoming Plunge dates and group details.
  • Group Logistics:
    • Coordinate schedules, housing, meals, and transportation for each Plunge group.
    • Ensure facilitators have all necessary materials, including journals, evaluation forms, and schedules.
    • Coordinate the purchase of groceries and supplies for the group's stay, ensuring all needs are met while staying within budget.
    • Find and maintain relationships with 2-3 reliable lodging locations in the city.

    • Schedule facilitators for each group and ensure they are prepared to manage the Plunge experience.
    • Coordinators are ultimately responsible for the success of each Plunge in their city. Recruiting facilitators is key so that, in the event a facilitator is sick or unable to lead a Plunge, the Coordinator will not have to facilitate the trip themselves. If a Coordinator is required to facilitate a trip as well as coordinate, they will be compensated for both roles.
    • Contact group leaders to discuss special skills, needs, or requests.
    • Confirm Ministry Partners’ availability and schedule group activities.
    • Provide detailed schedules and driving directions to all parties involved.
    • Ensure that all participants completed the evaluation form online.
    • Complete all post-plunge financial forms online.
    • Debrief with facilitators and address feedback or concerns.
    • Upload photos and videos to designated platforms and share them with the Central Office.
Other Responsibilities
  • Monthly Meetings:
    • Meet one on one with the Director of Urban Plunge.
    • Meet with all UP Coordinators for collaboration and encouragement during the designated monthly meeting time.
  • Expansion and Promotion:
    • Build and nurture relationships with local churches, youth leaders, and denominational groups to expand Urban Plunge participation.
    • When possible, promote Urban Plunge at local events and denominational gatherings.
    • Continue to develop relationships with Ministry Partners and maintain updated contact information.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, tasks, and relationships efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication for building and maintaining relationships with Ministry Partners, facilitators, and lodging contacts.
  • Resourceful problem‑solving abilities to address challenges and ensure the success of each Urban Plunge.
  • A passion for urban ministry and a commitment to creating impactful service opportunities.
Other

Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with logistics planning, including housing, transportation, and meal coordination.
