Position Summary
PART - TIME. Provide support to UNMC Strategic Communications’ outreach efforts including leadership role in activities such as UNMC Speaker’s Bureau, Employee Giving campaign, and other department-driven activities as assigned. Assist in the implementation of the Nebraska Science Festival. Regular office hours will be established for this position, but will be changed an estimated 5-10 times each year by events scheduled well in advance.

Preferred Qualifications
Required
Education:
Associate's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field. (Will consider five years related education/experience)
Required Experience:
3 years in public relations, event planning, community outreach or related. (Will consider five years related education/experience)
Required Computer Applications:
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook
Required Additional
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires familiarity with all facets of event planning, strong writing skills, budgetary and organization skills.
Preferred Education:
Marketing, public relations, communications or related field.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with events planning. Events experience at a higher education institution.
Preferred Computer Applications:
Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook
