2nd SHIFT - MATERIAL HANDLER (SHIPPING) - OMAHA
$1500 Hiring Bonus!
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm
The Material Handler in Shipping will perform a wide variety of tasks focused on shipping/receiving, warehousing, maintaining and moving inventory, assembling orders and accurate data reporting. May operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate movement of products throughout production facility.
Responsibilities- Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine appropriate materials to be moved
- Operate all forklifts and attached equipment; exhibit a high level of safe practices at all times to ensure no damage or harm to the operator, other persons, forklift, physical structures, or the product
- Report mechanical or electrical problems to appropriate personnel
- Inventory material on production floor; supply workers with materials as needed to maintain continuity of operations
- Track records and communicate material information to appropriate persons or on appropriate production reports
- Build pallets and cartons as needed and keep lifts ready for use
- Band and otherwise prepare finished product to specification as needed
- Locate materials within the plant per work orders and transport them to the shipping area
- Load trucks in accordance with layout sheets provided
- Visually inspect materials for part number and quantity accuracy; remove any defective product
- Ensure proper product identification to prevent errors in shipment and proper recording on necessary forms for all product shipped
- Remove bracing and install as required for proper loading and safe shipping
- Properly label and tag materials as called for in work orders as required
- Maintain the ability to perform all the physical requirements for this position
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality, including being available for overtime
- Observe all plant safety rules and regulations, wear proper safety attire at all times
- May perform other duties that are not fundamental to the overall purpose and strategic impact of the job
- Performs semi-routine job involving some variety of detail and requiring judgment
- Ability to obtain and retain knowledge of pertinent occupational safety rules and practices
- Ability to reason through problems
- Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform strenuous work in all weather conditions
- Ability to visually check equipment to detect adjustments
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds

Materials Used:
Lubricants, banding equipment/tools, packaging and unitizing materials.
Tools & Equipment:
Operates all plant material handling equipment, pallets, marking equipment, tape measures, scales, banding materials, pneumatic staplers and nailers.
Work
Conditions:
Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes and limited climate control.
Minimum of 2 yrs of forklift, warehouse and inventory management experience. Must be able to manually handle cartons that may weigh up to 75 lbs.
