Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their first‑shift manufacturing team in Omaha. This role requires strong hands‑on experience with CNC mills, CNC lathes, and manual machining equipment. The ideal candidate has a job‑shop background, can perform custom setups, and is comfortable machining a wide range of materials and part types with precision. You'll work closely with engineering and production teams to support daily machining operations and ensure high‑quality output.

This role is open to LOCAL or COMMUTABLE candidates only
- Calculate speeds, feeds, chip loads, and tool geometry.
- Perform trial runs to verify accuracy of setups.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools.
- Build fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning operations.
- Write clear setup procedures and machining steps.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and machining specifications.
- Set up and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, and manual machines.
- Set machine controls speed, feed, coolant, depth of cut, and angles.
- Select and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
- Maintain strong quality standards throughout all machining operations.
- Diagnose machining issues and collaborate with engineers to resolve problems.
- 4+ years of job‑shop machining experience.
- CNC machining experience (mills + lathes)
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
- Ability to sharpen drills and tools (carbide and HSS)
- Ability to set up and run CNC and manual equipment.
- Ability to perform single‑point threading (, OD, taper pipe threads)
- Strong understanding of machining terminology, tolerances, and fits.
- 3–5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lay out and measure bolt circles, slots, and complex features.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and specialty inspection equipment.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Job‑shop environment with a wide variety of parts and materials.
- Hands‑on machining with close collaboration across engineering and production.
