Supervisor - Production (hourly)

OverviewThis position is full-time, located in Omaha, NE. The Production Supervisor will manage daily production activities, ensure safety, quality, and customer service standards, and lead a high‑performing team.
General FunctionThe Production Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day activities to achieve metrics and standards for safety, quality, production, customer service, and people management.
Responsibilities- Working knowledge of all aspects within the manufacturing area.
- Monitor and evaluate productivity through team and individual metrics.
- Actively participate and engage in continuous improvement processes and coach employees on such initiatives.
- Effectively communicate company policies and procedures.
- Manage and coach employees, ensuring timely performance reviews and proper documentation.
- Schedule vacation hours, considering seasonality workloads.
- Maintain production and machine maintenance records and charting.
- Communicate with offsite vendors to troubleshoot machine errors and breakdowns.
- Maintain close association with accounts and address product information issues.
- Act as a role model, fostering motivation and teamwork.
- Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and organized condition.
- Follow company and manufacturer’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety rules.
- Assist coworkers as needed to maintain workload balance.
- Provide training, direction, and technical guidance to less experienced coworkers.
- Attend training meetings, including supervisory training classes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to solve problems across multiple departments.
- Strong proficiency in all aspects of lab manufacturing.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills to maintain an even workflow and a motivating work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Manage interactions with internal and external customers.
