Position: Lead Control Systems Technician 1

Job Summary Provides technical support and field coordination to control system projects and service teams. Listens, takes direction, and seeks guidance from assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership. Travel to client locations for installations, maintenance, or repairs of control systems.

Education And Experience
  • Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Science in Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems Technology, relevant curriculum, or experience.
  • Typically, 2 to 5+ years industry experience.
  • Proven Track Record: 2+ years as Control System Technician or equivalent.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist and be self-sufficient in project installation, start-up and commissioning of control systems.
  • Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of control systems.
  • Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Wire instruments and control panels.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of HMI and PLC applications; proficient with startup and troubleshooting of HMI and PLC applications.
  • Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams.
  • Practice procedures outlined in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Accurately document work performed.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of control system design, electrical and mechanical system design, and IT system, network infrastructure, and computer system design as it relates to control system integration.
  • Seek accredited control systems certifications and training opportunities.
Customer Service
  • Communicate in an effective, positive, and proactive manner with customers.
  • Follow customer-specific site standards and procedures.
  • Always conduct business in a professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer care and support; be patient, attentive, and responsive to customers; follow up and honor commitments.

Required

Skills And Abilities
  • In addition to Control Systems Technician skills: effectively communicates with co-workers; strategic thinking and problem solving; ability to work independently and take personal responsibility.
Travel Required
  • Up to 100% of time spent at customer locations with overnight travel up to 60%.
On Call
  • On-call rotation participation may be required based on location and client needs.
Work Authorization / Other Requirements
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Fit for Duty at all times.
